The Ageing Societies research group is recruiting a quantitative early career researcher with a background in the social sciences to work on the recently funded Digital-by-Default project. The overall aim of the project, lead by Emanuela Sala and Emma Garavaglia, is to investigate the consequences of the digitalisation of public services for older people.   

Project and job description 
The early career researcher will work on Work Package (WP) 3, entitled Older people’s digital public service use (DPS) in Italy and across Europe. The team working on WP3 is composed of Alessandra Gaia, Elisabetta Ruspini,Emanuela Sala, and Daniele Zaccaria. 

The early career researcher will analyse complex survey data to:
1) describe older people’s DPS use and investigate changes over time,
2) explore cross-country differences in older people’s DPS use, focussing specifically on Italy,
3) identify older people’s demographic and socio-economic characteristics associated with DPS use, with a specific focus on gender and territorial (e.g.urban/rural) differences.He/she will also contribute to the dissemination activities of the Ageing Societies research group.

Skills and competences required 
Sound expertise on the analysis of complex survey data; working knowledge on regression based analysis techniques; experience in the field of ageing research & ICTs; excellent organizational skills; ability to speak fluently in English and write clearly in academic English.
