From June 2023 to May 2025
The scope of this Research Stream is to create a digital literacy protocol targeted specifically to older people, providing them with the digital skills needed to age healthy and actively, in a changing social context. Specifically, we aim to pilot (by designing, implementing, and evaluating) a peer-to-peer digital literacy course, whereby older educators teach less digitally savvy older people how to use smartphone daily utility apps, such as e-Gov, homebanking etc. We shall adopt a gendered approach and a co-creation attitude in all stages of the course realisation e. g., when selecting the peer educators, recruiting the course participants, and creating the course materials. The intervention will be conducted in close collaboration with associations engaged in the field of active ageing and gender issues, e.g., AUSER, Casa delle Donne, ABCD, the Digital Wellbeing Research Center, etc. If successful, it could be implemented on a larger scale, providing a major contribution to enhance older people’s social (and digital) inclusion
